An 18th-century Russian polymath and founder of Moscow State University. His scientific contributions spanned physics, chemistry, and astronomy, including the discovery of the atmosphere of Venus. In 2019, Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport was renamed after him as part of the "Great Names of Russia" project to honor his status as the father of Russian science.
